NEW! Wildcrafted Piñon Balm
I first heard about Pinus edulis, or the Piñon pine, when we spent a couple weeks exploring New Mexico last year, and was immediately smitten by the scent and properties of this magical tree. It is native to the southwestern United States and Mexico and has been used by Native Americans in the region for both food and medicine.
Piñon sap acts as a sort of anti-freeze for the trees and is a wonderfully fragrant resin, smelling soft, warm, and sweet. It's so hard to describe, but I think it is positively enchanting. It is exuded by the trees and sustainably hand collected and filtered before we blend with Cocoa butter, Beeswax and Coconut oil. This salve can be used anywhere you need a little extra moisture.
Here is a fun article from 1933 written by one of the rangers at Grand Canon National park, telling of the historic uses and benefits of the piñon pine.
Super convenient twist up tube makes application a breeze. Fits perfectly in your pocket or project bag! Just apply a little to your dry areas and massage in. A little goes a long way! Perfect to keep your hands in shape while knitting, spinning or any time your hands need a little pampering.
You may occasionally notice some very small specks in your balm. These are due to using natural refined beeswax and piñon sap and are perfectly normal. Accessories shown for scale and not included
